Benitachell is a municipality in the comarca of Marina Alta on
the Costa Blanca. Approximately halfway between Alicante and Valencia, it is accessed
from Teulada, Moraira and Jávea, and is
also close to Calpe, Altea and Denia.
The municipal area has 2 km of coastline on the Mediterranean
Sea. It offers a rough and broken coast with cliffs that reach 100 meters above
sea level in some points. It is a perfect place for diving fans who can
discover the attractive and interesting caves and places that follow one
another without interruption.
Places of interest :
• Cala el Moraig. It offers a gravel beach and transparent
waters. It is located between cliffs and has no buildings on the beachfront. Of
the three existing coves in the municipality of Benitachell, it is the only one
accessible by car, practically to the entrance of the Cova dels Arcs. From this
cove there are several signposted hiking routes that offer access to the other
two coves in the town. Likewise, the large underwater cave of Moraig or Río
Blanco can be reached.
• Cova dels Arcs: Cavity located at the beginning of Cala el
Moraig. This cavity has been known to humans since prehistory, and can be reached
by hiding. Likewise, the large underwater cave of Moraig or Río Blanco can be
reached.
• Cala dels Testos: Pebble beach.
• Cala Llebeig.
• Alto de Puig Llorença, also known as Cumbre del Sol, is a
mountain pass located in the "Cumbre del Sol" urbanization of
